Building Survey
A Building Survey will involve a comprehensive inspection of all parts
of the property. The survey will provide an in-depth description of the building
construction and condition of roofs, chimneys, walls, etc. A detailed, but
clearly presented, report will be produced including photographs to illustrate
defects. A market valuation and/or reinstatement cost assessment (for insurance
purposes) can usually be provided.
The report will include analysis of the causes of defects and recommendations
for remedial work, with a summary of the main repair items and any legal issues
to be checked.
On request we also provide advice on alterations, extensions or general
refurbishment. Specialist tests by contractors on service installations can be
arranged.
A Building Survey is suitable for any property type but it is most appropriate
for older buildings, typically pre-1900, houses in major disrepair or houses
that have been altered.
